Bio

Bin Mu was born in Xixiang, Shaanxi, China. He received a BSE degree and MSE degree from East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, both in chemical engineering. After graduation from Shanghai, Bin joined the research group of Dr. Krista Walton as one of her first graduate students.

Research Interests

My research focuses on the search of MOF structures for adsorption applications, and production of novel MOF adsorbents using different synthesis approaches, mostly by solvothermal and hydrothermal methods. We employ a well-rounded approach of experimental work combined with molecular simulations, to explore potential adsorption applications for a variety of practical purposes. Personal Interests Singing, especially with Karaoke machine, is my favorite fun, which will always cheer me up. Reading can help me get over the fear of uncertain things and future. Volleyball is a great collective game. If I could get enough players, it would be on the top of my fun list. Beautiful photograph should bring me back into the wonderful moments if I might be too old to remember them someday. So, I love photography.
